Hear how crypto assets are democratizing investments in alternative investments. Learn how investors view the crypto space and what are the major considerations (risk, liquidity, valuation) for such assets. Some observers suggest that the current pandemic may speed up the adoption of digital currency, as it has in China.

Gain insight into the scope and impact of blockchain and crypto transactions as you delve deeper into this fascinating area.

Nicole DeMeo

Nicole DeMeo is an accomplished business launch, growth, turnaround and crisis expert, as well as a start-up and investment fund advisor. A Silicon Valley veteran and founder at Outfront Solutions, she works closely with global, executive teams to develop marketing strategies and guides companies through major lifecycle events. Her participation in more than 50 company launches - including four of her own – has resulted in significantly increased valuations, acquisitions and IPOs. Nicole has served as brand ambassador and marketing strategist for industry leaders such as Steve Jobs, Eric Schmidt, and Carly Fiorina and Fortune 500 companies including Apple, Hewlett Packard, and Accenture. Nicole has served on leadership teams including Andra Capital, Glispa, and Organic and advises fast-growth companies and funds like Barnraiser, EyeEm, Peak Games, Burson Cohn & Wolfe, Earlybird Venture Capital, and How Women Invest. Fueled by her desire to give back, she has supported national non-profits and community organizations including: The September 11th Fund, American Red Cross, UPWARD, and How Women Lead. Nicole is a frequent public speaker and media contributor with a passion for entrepreneurship supporting and standing along-side of female investors and founders. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and in all of her spare time, she delights in making wine as the owner of Media Luna Vineyards.

Alka Gupta
Co-Founder, globaliD

Alka Gupta is a tech entrepreneur and Fortune 500 former executive with deep experience in digital transformations, financial services/tech, commerce, identity, telcos and globalization. She has been at the early stages of some of the most significant disruptions and platforms including mobile, payments, e-commerce, and blockchain at both early stage and public companies across the globe. Alka is Co-Founder and Board Director at globaliD, an identity platform leveraging the blockchain. She is currently an Advising Partner at HardYaka Ventures. Prior, Alka was with eBay/PayPal as head of strategy for marketplaces. Alka was VP of Business Development at Retrevo (ace by BN) where she built strategic partnerships to generate early revenue. Earlier, she spent eight years at Lycos (NASDAQ: LCOS; acq by Telefonica), the first search engine to IPO, initially as a product manager, eventually as GM running a global suite of products, and then as VP Corporate Development and Strategy. Prior to this, Alka was with AT&T Solutions, advising clients on the use of e-commerce solutions as revenue generating opportunities. Earlier in her career, she was with US West Telecom's International Strategy Group and worked on the bid for the Indian telecom licenses and with AMS Telecom practice and developed pricing strategies for Souther Bell and Swedish Telecom. Ms. Gupta holds an MBA from the Wharton School and B.S. (cum laude) from Case Western Reserve University. She is a board director at globaliD, Digital Frontiers, and Fintel AI and a Board Advisor at Rova, Inc and Women in Identity. She has served as a guest lecturer at both The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and The University of Michigan. Edith Yeung
General Partner, Race Capital

Edith Yeung is a general partner at Race Capital and author and creator of the China Internet Report, an annual report on China technology trends widely popular among investors and corporate executives and Silicon.news - weekly briefing on Silicon Valley funding, merger, and acquisition news. She has invested in over 50 startups including Lightyear/Stellar (valued $1.2B), Silk Labs (acquired by Apple), Chirp (acquired by Apple), Fleksy (acquired by Pinterest), Human (acquired by Mapbox), Solana, Oasis Labs, Nebulas, Hooked, DayDayCook, AISense, and many more. Prior to Race Capital, Edith was a partner at 500 Startups, the world's most active early-stage fund and incubator invested in Twilio, Credit Karma, Grab, and 2000 more companies. Before 500, Edith was the general manager at Dolphin Browser, a Sequoia-backed mobile browser with over 150 million installs worldwide. Judith Rinearson

Judith Rinearson, a lawyer specializing in Fintech and Emerging Payments, is a Partner of K&L Gates, LLP, based in its New York and London offices. Ms. Rinearson concentrates her practice in prepaid and emerging payment systems, electronic payments, blockchain, crypto/virtual currencies, reward programs, ACH and card/check processing. She has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 18 years at American Express’s General Counsel’s office. Her expertise focuses particularly in the areas of emerging payments and compliance with state and federal consumer-protection laws, anti-money-laundering laws, state money-transmitter-licensing laws, and abandoned-property laws.
